For years, I had watched seniors struggle with the complexities of Medicare and their difficulties with choosing a plan that was right for them. Then, when they reached out for help because of an advertisement or solicitation, they were bombarded by relentless texts, emails, and telephone calls from agents wanting to sign them up to garner a commission, never to be seen or heard from again. This was also partially true with regard to non-seniors who did not have health insurance coverage through their employers or spouses, wanting to select the health insurance plan through the Affordable Care Act that was best for them. Complicated! I knew that I could do it much better: to help guide the client to the plan best suited for them, that accepted their doctors, offered them the best benefits for their needs, and most importantly, provide ongoing and continuous support for them, helping them with their questions and concerns AFTER they signed up. So far, it’s working tremendously. Assisting my ongoing and new clients with their Medicare or ACA plans has been personally fulfilling and satisfying, not to mention the many new friends that I’ve acquired along the way!
